{Exotic} Corner View
Corner View this week is 'exotic' ... there is LOTS of exotic here in Australia but I want to share this photo with you because I took it today and I just love it.
I was having a picnic with friends today and this little guy landed on my camera bag. He sat there, like a foot away, if that, while I got my phone, pointed it at him and snapped a shot.

It's very cool! What kind of bird is it?

Funny and exotic bird (for me) ;)
Haha, that's funny, but you know, I'm always getting a bit nervous of bird's flutter...I wouldn't have been able to keep still. ;o)
A very cool bird AND a great shot!! xo
very cool! and yes how lucky were to be able to capture him so well with your camera phone!
happy snapping! (loved the sunflowers from the previous post.)
That is pretty dang cool. I wonder if he was looking for a little snack in the park.
D
This is amazing! Can't wait till I have a minute to go to the link and look up Mr. Butcherbird!
ok, this is cool :)
I've never seen a butcherbird. How cool that he landed so close to pose for his portrait!
Your little Butcher Bird is beautiful Bonnie. You have such incredible birds in Australia. We have some interesting birds here in NZ too - but they are a lot shyer! You don't get to see them very often :-)
Love the look of your picnic spot too. And your weather. I can see the sun is shining. We have been having a bit of a dismal old spring so far. Our sunny days have been few and far between.
He fell right into your hands, photographically speaking! Why is he called a butcherbird - is he a cannibal or a very messy eater?
That IS very cool! I think handsome fella wanted his photo taken.
I had a look see at your link and I got curious about his song...it was described as rollicking... isn't that fun?! Anyhow, looking farther for the song I went to this link-- http://species.wikimedia.org/wiki/Cracticus_torquatus -- and just want to tell you that your photo is a twin for this official one...quite possibly yours is better! (never did hear what a rollicking song sounds like, though...)
LOVE it!
That's very cool! Good thing you had your phone since he commandeered your camara bag! Wonderful phot--definitely an exotic bird by Ohio standards!
he's great
cool shot!
great shot.I like his curved beak.
you live in a very exotic continent. my husband is there at the moment, and I can't ever remember the names of most of the places he's going to because they sound so ... well, exotic!
That is very dang great. I wonder if he was looking for a little treat in the store.
Great shot of the bird. I think the Kukabura bird is exotic. I remember being so amazed by the fact they really do sound like they are laughing.
