time to take the {tree} down ?
When do you all take your tree down ?
Every year when putting my tree up I think
"oh, I'll keep it up longer this year, it's so pretty."
Then every year ... right about this time ... just before the
new year hits us, I think "It's soooo time to take that thing down !"
I think I'm going to take it down today ....

I like to take mine down right away when Christmas is done. It's just nice to get back to normal!
I took mine down yesterday - and it was still green! But the house feels so much cleaner now! What are you drinking there?
It's bad luck to take your tree down before New Year's Day!!! I hate taking my tree down, even though it's more than dry by the 1st. I wish Christmas season & the tree could last for the entire winter!

I took mine down yesterday, the minute Christmas is over I'm done and just want my house back to normal :)
we take it down before we get it up! haha we don't do trees. hehehehehe (I'm sure our cats would climb to the top of it.)
Its funny, the so called "real" times are put it up 1 December and take it down 6 January.
I never stick with superstitions that have become tradition.
As you know I usually put my tree up mid Novemeber and try to take it down Boxing Day. I haven't done it yet but tomorrow is the day :D
Here in Germany it seems to be a bit different. We put our tree up at Christmas Eve. (Even though many people seem to put it up earlier now - I still stick to what my family did, when I was a kid.) So it would be quite sad to take it down after the Christmas holidays are over! I don't know how long it's gonna last this year. Usually I try having it up until end of January/ beginning of February. But this year room is very little - we had to put remove the play pen of our baby in order to be able to put up the tree ... so maybe this year we'll take it down earlier just to have a bit more space ... Also once it stands for a while it looses it's needles and makes a big mess ... so we'll see ...
I love putting it up- but I'm always ready to take it down and get my house back to normal. This year it came down at 11:00 on Christmas day!!!
Now I know that's a bit extreme but we had an hour before we had to go to the family party on Christmas day and decided to just get it done with!
I'm starting to get the itch too, Bonnie. Must be the organizer in us. I usually do it on New Year's Day. I don't actually like doing it though and dread it, although once I get started I'm like a freight train and there is no stopping me. We have small group at our house next Tuesday, so I definitely want it done before then, so this long weekend is perfect.
We never put our tree up until about the fourth Sunday of Advent, or there abouts, and we leave it up until at least the sixth of January. . Epiphany and all that. . .
