corner view - the beach

hello !!!
i love this theme
it's no secret that we love the beach here in our Aussie corner of the world
and why wouldn't we ?
just look at it ...

i've been all over the world and seen lots of beaches
and this here
is one of my all time favorites

i love that we live so close to so many beaches that are amazingly stunning

Photobucket

i have to admit that in my ripe old age of 36,
i am no longer excited about getting into the water
i used to love it
getting thrown around by the waves
the thrill of the unknown possibly lurking under foot

now, uh, not so much.

the kids though ... they can't get enough !

Photobucket

me,
i'm content to sit and watch
listen to their laughter
take photographs
read a book
enjoy the sounds of the waves
the cool salty breezes
and more often than not, i'll wade at the waters edge

Photobucket

i love to walk along the beach
in the sand
on the boardwalk
doesn't matter to me
as long as i can see the water ...

Photobucket

there's just something about the beach
there always has been

Photobucket

and i'm fairly certain there always will be.

**

ps ... thanks to jane who thought up and hosts corner view each week !
i'm looking forward to 'visiting' beaches all over the world !
see you soon !!

Your beach is just beautiful, and the sky always looks so blue!

Can't believe it's already tomorrow there! There's something about playing in the waves and in the water that kids never tire of.

I sooo feel the same as you. I have to see water, walk the promenade, crunch along the sand...breathe in the ocean. I can't envisage myself cavorting in it, but to be near it - love love love it.

What do you mean ripe old age of 36? Wait until you get to the ripe old age of nearly 42...hee hee.

Like Spongebob on Nick...I'm 42% Ripe (maybe over ripe!)

I love the photos with your children... fantastic. I'm with you as far as staying on the beach and just watching. It has to be really hot to get me in the water. Great post!

et lille oejeblik - a little moment June 3, 2009 at 6:23 PM

i had to come here, knowing you'd show us an australian beach. i've never been there, hubby has though, and he's still in awe (he's a surfer and diver -should explain it :)

how funny to read what you enjoy to do at the beach. sounds like me :) also the part about not really liking to get into the water. i pretty much only enjoy it in august/september when it's as hot as hell :)

have a wonderful day ~ trinsch

Those beaches look fabulous! I wouldn't mind to get to this water even now and let myself be hit by waves :)

have a great day Bonnie :)

the blues are amazing!

Australian beaches...who doesn´t want to go there? It is high on my wish list of places to go.
And like most of the others I just like to walk on the beach in the hope of finding some beautiful shells, glass or driftwood.
Have a great day, Jeannette

What glorious shades of blue! I love the shot of the children running toward the lookout area.

Joyce June 3, 2009 at 9:41 PM

Hi Again Bonnie!
to answer your question yes our beach has a locked fence around it. We are the only ones with the locked beach because there isn't much traffic activity where we are compare to the other 2 private beaches. It is a bummer when I forget the key. lol...

Me too... now I am the woman who is all covered up with sunscreen and hat (most of the time)! Love the blues of the water... :)

Kari June 4, 2009 at 12:38 AM

Love the photos. I still like to get in the water and be thrown around. Maybe soon I'll just enjoy sitting and taking in the sun.
Thanks for sharing.

aimee June 4, 2009 at 1:43 AM

beautiful aussie beaches :) i have to admit, too, that i'm no longer that interested in playing in the water - i just love looking at it. my children, however, can't get enough of it.

Crescent Moon June 4, 2009 at 1:44 AM

Those pictures are amazing!

Unknown June 4, 2009 at 1:45 AM

Your beach is beautiful! Oh do get back in the water! What I love is to put on my snorkel mask and snorkel and just float around looking at things - it's another world!

caitlin June 4, 2009 at 1:58 AM

Oh wow, I just finished writing that as a comment. There's just something about the beach.

Also between the pictures and your words, I have been transported. You have a gift! (That picture of being swept up with the waves conveyed so much!)

Seriously great post!!

Di June 4, 2009 at 2:38 AM

I've just joined the corner view project and i can't believe my luck that in the first week it is beaches! I love living close to the sea - although, here in Scotland you don't get to swim so much! I love all your photos - they make me yearn for that feeling of swimming in the sea being tossed by the waves (even at the age of 39 - guess that's what happens when it is a rare occurrence!)

Dana June 4, 2009 at 3:54 AM

just beautiful. incredible.

Anonymous June 4, 2009 at 6:03 AM

I love your pictures always have Bonnie!

I'd say I love the beach too, especially if it isn't too too busy.

It would be peaceful to soak up the sun while watching the waves roll in. I'm sure I could lay there for hours, basking!

hmm maybe some day we'll have a beach house, that would be nice :)

malo June 4, 2009 at 6:13 AM

Stunning! I had real trouble with this weeks theme because of my mind imagages of beaches like this. Paradise!

epe June 4, 2009 at 8:48 AM

Palmer and Co June 4, 2009 at 12:53 PM

Happy Day!

Do you know how amazing the place you live in is? We have nothing like that here. Nothing. While our place is beautiful in a totally different way, these scenes amaze me to no end. Wow.

;) June 4, 2009 at 4:57 PM

You're lucky !!! It's a wonderful place... and great shots too ;)

Unknown June 4, 2009 at 7:01 PM

MisterE June 5, 2009 at 1:14 PM

I wish I had beaches like that close by. The water looks awesome, so blue and welcoming.

shayndel June 5, 2009 at 6:53 PM

Beautiful post.
Yes, this beach theme is great.
I decided to spend this week at at the beach, visiting the corners slowly and leisurely. Thanks for this wonderful ocean view.

april June 5, 2009 at 6:57 PM

dear bonnie, here i am, a bit late...i'm the same age as you. and yes i like also to sit at the beach and read good books :-) have a wonderful day*

Jenell June 6, 2009 at 1:53 AM

Bonnie, the colors in the water are different than our beaches! Such wonderful blues!

We're the same age, and I'm in the same boat, so to speak! As a kid, I used to stay in the surf until my lips turned blue. But now, wading is sufficient and watching the kids pit themselves against the waves!

natsumi June 6, 2009 at 2:30 PM

Your beach is beautiful! I would love to jump into the water.. I can't wait for August!

sunnymama June 7, 2009 at 1:16 PM
