{22 hour getaway}
Rory and I were invited to attend an awards ceremony on Friday night.
His company was up for an award on the first bridge Rory was ever involved in building.
There were five categories for awards, Rory's company WON in their category !!
It was super exciting !
The ceremony was a 'cocktail' dress, three course meal with live entertainment.
I detest getting dressed up.
I am a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl.
But, I managed. A skirt. Heels. And hot roller curled hair.
We had a blast.

Knowing it was going to be a late night,
we booked ourselves into a hotel room adjoining the awards night venue !
We enjoyed a sleep in,
a short walk along the river in search of coffee,
and then we hit the art museum !
I was so excited when Rory suggested we go as I've been DYING to see this exhibit !

How fabulous Bonnie. I hate dressing up myself, jeans, tees and casuals and I'm happy - hate clothes shopping too...ha ha.
Lovely photos and what an awesome thing to see all those paintings!
What a wonderful weekend. Congrats to Rory!
Your pictures today are so beautiful!
What, no photos of Bonnie in a dress and heals?! I LOVE hot rollering my hair. :-D
Congrats to Rory. What a great achievement!!
Congrats! What lovely photos!!
That sounds like a dream weekend. How fun - I don't like to dress up too much, but I think it is fun once in a great while. Congrats to your hubby and glad you had a great time!
The pictures are beautiful. I love how you always have your camera with you.
Congratulations to Rory on the award!
Oh, that sounds like a wonderful relaxing adult weekend. So very nice for you to get away and love the pictures you took while you were there. An art museum visit, too? Now that just tops it off!
I got dressed up this weekend too...but I enjoy it. :-)
My weekend...BUSY BUSY BUSY!
Friday - Birthday Shabbat for Marissa complete with a summery Japanese meal. Saturday - Torah breakfast, cleaned up youth stuff at church, watched Marissa play bass at her church (she's a rock star and it was sooo awesome to be in GOOD worship again!), dressed up for Becky's birthday party. Sunday - went to my new church (YEA!!!), lunch with friends, shopping with Becky, HOME! The thing that didn't get done?? Laundry...I'm gonna have to get on that tonight or I will be going to work naked! :-)
oh and your weekend sounds lovely and relaxing! :-) Congrats to Rory too!

Yeah! Great job, Rory! Sounds like you two had an amazing weekend!
Oh, and that first photo is ridiculous!! And by ridiculous I mean, AMAZING!!
bonnie, i love ve ve ve the colors in that first shot. i'm on a color high just looking at it. your weekend sounds so fun-even if you did have to wear heels. i have to admit that i love heels-my former years as a ballerina seemed to have given me ease with them.
and the paintings! mmm, lucky girl!
It sounds like a wonderful date!
your weekend was VERY different than mine!
glad you had fun.
and as always posted with perfect pictures,,,
Glad you had a great time. Those special times are important and, well, special. We went on our annual Central City Opera weekend the weekend before last. It was great, as always. It is a highlight of our year.
I have always appreciated the American Impressionist and Realist artists, Winslow Homer, Mary Cassat, James Whistler, John Singer Sargent, to name a few. It was nice you were able to see that exhibit.
I have a few wonderful art museum memories, one when Jimmy took me through an exhibit in Columbus when he was going to school there and another when Mary Yarman took me through the Ringling Brothers Museum in Sarasota, a fine art museum. Mary was impressed with my little bit of knowledge of art as we strolled through the museum, but I was dazzled with Jimmy's analysis and explanations of each painting we passed.
Sounds like a perfect weekend! But no photos of you dressed up?
